Bronchitis!!!

Have you ever noticed how some people on the library computers don't really know how to use computers? I guess they are here because of the fact that they don't have one at home, but when they are talking in low whispers(which, it IS a library) then don't they need to figure out what they need to do BEFORE coming here?

People are weird. I was in the doctors office yesterday night, and this lady kept freaking about about my cough (which I told her about, I don't know if I actually coughed while I was there) and wanted me to use the mask, and finally got one for herself so that the inconsiderate me who didn't think that I needed one could get everyone else sick but her. You gotta love people sometimes, you know?

Joe Perry is an amazing guitarist. Listening to the guitar line on "walk this way" is a joy in itself. dj's who stop "sultans of swing" before it actually ends are slightly frustrating.

These short vignettes are all I am thinking. Seriously. Wow I sound like an ADD 16 year old.

Yup, its me :)

Wrote this while ago....

But never posted it, so here goes!

Have you ever had one of those mornings when no matter how hard you try, you just don't ever seem to wake up? It is past noon, and I have been awake for about 6 hours now, or will be by the time that I finish this entry. I finally feel as awake as I need to start the school day. The problem is that I started the school day 3 1/2 hours ago. I have 3 hours of class today, and I didn't wake up at all during those classes. I was chugging that coffee, but it just didn't work this morning. (It's now sitting nicely at 70 degrees, the temperature of my classroom) I forwent the yoga that I was planning to do, the one routine that I actually know. It is a strength/stamina routine, and when I am done with it I am sweating, which still surprises me some days. But today I stretched a bit on the floor, but nothing as strenuous as the routine that I forwent. So without getting my blood pumping to wake up, I am still fighting bouts of dozyness.

I imitate writing styles. Some friends of mine, when writing music on a certain day actually stop listening to music so that it doesn't effect them as they write. It doesn't matter what I have listened to, I can write music however I want. But if I try to write something after I have read something else, then it will imitate that which I had just read. I remember trying to write a story once, to keep a friend company over AIM, and it was great, because the story was a combination of the styles found in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and The princess bride. Unfortunately, I didn't save what I had written, so it is lost. I have the second half of chapter one, and the beginnings of chapter two, but it doesn't feel right, so I just stopped writing it.

A post a post

So I have a post written that I emailed to myself so I could access it, but the computer was acting funny... ok.

So about 3 hours after writing that, I am no longer tired, but still kinda foggy in the brain. I don't know what it was. I got about as much sleep last night as I usually do, but for some reason nothing seemed to motivate me. Not even my morning coffee. I had it, and I was more awake, but it didn't have it's usual effect. But onwards!

He's Back!

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen! I am back to posting somewhat regularly thanks to the advent of school! Once again I am thrown into this mix of classes and children and having to be adult and in charge. I had someone tell me recently that I am officially an adult since I have a full-time Job. Apparently the weeks I worked 50 hours at two different jobs counted, but one job, working 40 hours a week, well that means something. Not that I don't understand what they were saying or resent them for saying that, I completely understand, and yes, for some reason I feel more adult-ish than normal. I had to go out and buy some more work shirts since I have 5 that I regularly wear, and I need a few more so that I am not just wearing the same shirts every day of the week. I now own 8 - and a Star Wars shirt! So I am happy with that shopping experience.

I think that it is weird that I barely posted anything over the summer aside from the whole "Well, I felt like posting 2 hours ago, but right now I am tired and have no motivation, so this is all you get." yet now suddenly I have the energy and motivation to write them. Procrastination is amazing isn't it?

Classes are not just starting for me, but for my friends at college (or the one in grad school) and my gf. So we are all in the same boat, except not really. They are all taking input, having to write papers, and learn about their topics in depth. I am on the opposite end. I know about my topic-though I dare not say in depth-and I have to give output for my students to get what I am trying to tell them. How will the 5th graders act this year? Last year they acted like they didn't care, and I had a hard time trying to get them motivated or interested in music. Will last years fourth graders be any more excited at the outset, or will they just show up because they are in elementary school and have to? All the teachers are gone right now at a pizzaria, laughing it up and enjoying their company, yet I brought my lunch and now get to stay here, isolated in my room, brooding within these brightly colored walls. Granted, I didn't know about the lunch today, and going out to eat isn't the best way to save money and live wisely like I am trying to do, so when I found out I chose to sit and eat lunch by myself. I have the outlines for the next school week finished. Now I have to work on getting all of the lesson plans done. I didn't really use them last year, but I do need to have them written up for our shiney new evaluation system. (Rock and Roll Fantasy, Bad Company. Good song)
Well, I think that this is enough procrastination for the moment, so I think that I will go back to writing out my lesson plans. Mach's Gute!

At a coffee shop

You get all sorts of chances to observe people. I don't actively observe, but somehow passively I notice things about what they do and why they do it. I had a point to this, but forgot. I opened the branch store today. I am not used to getting up at 4:30, but the good news is that tomorrow, no matter what time I end up getting up, will be sleeping in :) I always want to post more, but always seem to have inspiration when I am away, and when I get here am too tired to actually post anything or type anything remotely as wordy and eloquent as I was planning.
'till next time,

Thunderstorms

are really fun, but sometimes... not so much.

Moved In

So I am fully moved in now. The only things I haven't taken are my water filter-which my old roommate uses, so I figure he can have it-and I think my measuring spoons, which I need to get back. But aside from that, I am completely in! It is a little odd, but pretty nice overall. I have to take the dog out every 2-3ish hours so he can use the little doggies bush/mailbox/grass, but he is pretty cool. I did notice that I need to not play quite as rough with him as I was given that he has taken to nipping/biting, and I am not a fan of biting so much, and he has started to do it rather hard instead of the lighter, playful style he was using earlier.

In other news, I beat Need For Speed Undercover. Great game, cool customizable options with the cars, nice plot to help things move along. I liked the way that you could be a cop and ram criminals, however it would have been nice if they had been faster and the AI more intelligent. Aside from that, the cars were great, and I know that I will play this game again.

Furthermore, I am going to go play some guitar before the rest of my day starts taking place. Not that I am not looking forward to the rest of my day. On the contrary I am rather looking forward to it. I just don't get to play guitar that much anymore, and I want to remedy that a little today.

DragonFly

I saw a dragonfly today that was one of the biggest if not THE biggest that I have ever seen. It was emerald green, and had at least a 5-in wingspan. This guy was BIG. Now, don't correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the bigger they are the longer they have lived, so this guy was a veteran of the Dragonflies. He had stories of war with the mosquitos, of battles won and lost, and of the places he had been and seen that to us, would have been a completely different world had we been larvae listening to his stories. I don't know why it struck me so, but I saw it and suddenly wanted to write about him. I wanted to share his history, to divulge into his background, to expound upon his glorious triumphs. But I don't know him. I merely saw him for a moment, battleship of an insect as he was, and brushed his wing to see if he was alive, but then left. But I wonder about him. Isn't it interesting how one such encounter can leave such an impression? I will probably forget all about him by tomorrow or the day after, but still, even for the briefest of moments it feels good to think about him as a creature that has memory and thought, that has scars unnumbered yet has lived to tell the tale. Bravo good sir, may you live to fight and eat another day!

In other news, I saw a women driving her car shortly after who reminded me of Uma Thurman, so go figure...

Kinda unsure

So I have to change living situations, and it is rather odd. My roomie is going back to his boat, and I am going to move in with a couple from church, which will be interesting. I mean, they are really cool people, I am not worried about not getting along with them, its just that where I am now, we are bachelors. I don't have to worry about keeping the place here spotless unless we have guests over, and then we just blitz the place and tell them not to go upstairs. But whenever I have been over to their place, it seems almost sterile. This could be because they are NEVER home, but still, I am defintely going to have to change my living habits. No more dumping stuff where-ever, as is the bachelor way.
...now I just dump it in my room!

MJ-yes I am wearing black today

I have to admit, I was/am stunned that he is gone. Such an icon. Granted I am not mourning him like some people, but I am disappointed that he is gone and can no longer dance his dances, or sing his songs.
Off to play guitar... no wait, off to do a budget... oof...
